Sheffield Nature Fest – Western Park and Museum TOMORROW (Sat 29th July 10-4pm)

Join us as we celebrate all things nature, including nature stalls, birdwatching, bug hunting and arts and crafts.

Our groups work on Sheffield’s otters and their distribution and diet with be on display.

Experts will be on hand to show you how to help us record and identify plants and animals and enjoy wildlife in your own backyard.

11am-4pm: Craft activities with the Museums Sheffield learning team

11am-12pm: Minibeast Hunt – Paul Richards from Nature Counts shows you how you can become a citizen scientist! Paul will lead a guided walk round the Ponderosa to record invertebrates and help you to identify the mini-beasts you find.

1-2pm: Curator Talk on Garden Moths – Join Curatorial Assistant of Natural Sciences Gina Allnatt to hear about what kind of moths you might find in your garden, how moths are more diverse, and often more colourful than butterflies, and how to record and observe them

2-3pm: Minibeast Hunt – As at 11am.
