This years Royal Entomological Society Postgrad Forum will be held between the 2-3rd February 2011 at the Royal Hotel in Hull.
Confirmed speakers so far> Dr Helen Roy, Dr Richard Gill and Dr Lori Lawson Handley. The PG forum is an excellent opportunity for postgrads to present their work, get feedback and meet others working on insect related projects. Last years meeting was in Sheffield and a great success and this years promises to be just as good.
More information and registration forms are available on the RES website: www.royensoc.co.uk or just give me a shout.
you will have noticed that the front page is not displaying normally: we can’t see the page buttons on the top right hand corner for instance.
I have just had a chat with Chris Smith, who has looked into it and has found the reason for this fault.
Chris explained that we shouldn’t copy and paste from Word as hidden styles get added to the post, pushing the layout to the right. If we want to copy and paste large sections of text rather than type everything again, we need to copy into Notepad first, from which we can safely extract the text into our post.
Chris is attempting to resolve the issue, and we might get a new look blog out of it!
So please bear with us for the time being and remember Notepad!
the next group meeting is scheduled for Friday next week in B52. Newcomers, please let your inner baker out!
