The Genetics Society

Hi all.

I’ve recently become the local rep for The Genetics Society (www.genetics.org.uk).
If you are not yet a member it is well worth joining. PhD students and young postdocs are eligible for fieldwork grants, travel costs to meetings and conferences, prizes and training grants. Annual membership is £5 for undergrads and £15 for postgrads. You also get a very good newsletter.

at/discuss our newly generated SNP genotyping data on
Tuesday 14th Sept b/w 1.30-3pm in B52. Gav is going to load

the data onto his laptop.

Technician job in Mol Ecol lab

We have just advertised an 18-month post for a technician, working on various SNP-typing projects  on the BeadXpress. Study organisms include zebra finches, crickets and stalk-eyed flies. if you know of anybody suitable, then please do bring the ad to their attention.
