lab re-organisation

Hi folks- you will notice that the broken (being fixed) -70 freezer has moved to the end of the lab.- and it’s place has been taken by a chest freezer. This will have the benefit of making this area more pleasant to work in. Hopefully this works OK. Any comments on how this new arrangement is working would be more than welcome.

Accomodation for visitor in June

Amy Marshall, a PhD student in Neil Gemmell’s group at Otago is visiting me in June.
She is working on the heterozygosity-fitness correlations in fur seals, using the dog genome to find microsats close to candidate loci. She will be here from ~8th-19th June.

Does anyone have a spare room she could rent during this period?
If so, perhaps you could drop Amy ( or I a line.
